New Coop, chickens & member ( 1st post here)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to chickens, never owned any, and I first got my chickens on Tuesday, July 27,2021 @ 11:00 am from the USPS overnight delivery in Irving Texas shipped from Murry McMurray Hatchery. I got six (6) day old vaccinated hens (Born Monday, July 26, 2021 @ 11:00 am - per staff member @ McMurray’s). I got 2 Black Australorps, 2 Golden Campines & 2 Speckled Sussex.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have a total of six hens; 2 Black Australorps, 2 Golden Campines & 2 Speckled Sussex.

(3) What breeds do you have? I got 2 Black Australorps, 2 Golden Campines & 2 Speckled Sussex.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? As it’s only been one week, my favorite aspects are the chaos created when it’s snack time( small mealworms, wax worms crickets & small bug snacks. I also like how smart they are with perching on fingers for mealworms, climbing ramps, and learning quickly in general. I had heard chickens are not that smart but I can see that especially the Golden Campines.. they are the quickest to learn and the others copy VERY WELL LOL!!!!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I’m a litigation attorney and love helping folks with personal injuries and I enjoy helping people with estate planning & wills etc. I’m also into the gym three - four times a week with 45 min on the stairmaster and I also love golf and traveling ( all those Covid has slowed that down) and I’m also a big foodie and enjoy trying new restaurant… I treat restaurants like books… if you’ve read the book why are you reading the same book !?!? why don’t you read a different book!! And so I travel far and wide is the cow high rated ( Great
Reviews ) dining experiences

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have parents and 5 brothers and one sister at the end LOL.. I’m # 5. I own NO other pets etc.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I found BYC on Facebook and owning chickens for a week prompted me to this point here now writing these thoughts.
