We just built a better bigger coop and got new chickens, went from 3 to 8 chickens. How long do we need to keep them in the coop before letting them free range? We have an un-enclosed yard out in the country. They've been in the coop 5 days.

Every situation is different but I was planning to keep mine in for a week and after 5 days, for no real reason, I threw open the door. I live out in the country too, on acreage with no fences. They come in and out of the coop all day with no problems. It worked great.
