When do you all plant your gardens? I hear different stories, so i'm just wondering when the best time to plant is? Thanks!

Well, I know most people around here have long since started their gardens (granted, some in cold frames early on). I have a severe procrastination problem however, and haven't even started mine yet. I'm always the last one to get around to it, but to me it's no big deal. Around here everything grows well into the late fall, so it just means I get things a few weeks later than others. When others' veggies have passed, I still have plenty.

I already planted my cool season crops.
My warm season plants I usually do on Memorial Day weekend, or the week of Memorial Day.

Here in CT I've had cool season stuff in for a couple of weeks. I planted tomatoes and peppers in containers a week or so ago. I got more today. We are officially frost free here at this point. So in general I plant throughout the month of May.

Peas, carrots, parsnips and radishes are in already, the rest will go in Memorial Day weekend as a general rule... But the forecast looks spectacular here for the next week so I may just get the rest done tomorrow [IMG]

    My gardening plan ^^

1# Breaks back picking out rocks

    2# till

3# Break back again picking more rocks

    4# till again

5# Plants Tomatoes, Brussel sprouts (Lots!!!), peepers, and everything else that grows above ground

6# Does Not plant potatoes, carrots, beets, any other root vegie

7# spends next few months weeding rocks
