Have just found this site....looks very interesting...
I have a hobby flock of layers and a few batams.
Have played around at incubating...easter eggers etc.
Have also had some luck with hatching geese and ducks
We farm here..cattle.. husband drives 18 wheeler stateside
and is gone 4-5 days a run. Leaves me time to play at my poultry hobby.
I'm 60ish and like the experience of raising my wee babies and
finding suitable homes for them....though some end up in the pot
Can't get too attached..lol....
I also have been breeding dogs( PoodleX) for last 4 years but, I'm down
to one last litter this spring....that was every rewarding experience
and I keep in touch with puppy families but, with the work of the farm
there was far too much time whelping, poop clean-up and then marketing
....also I'm no spring chicken....retirement is supposed to be fun....
