The last time I was around a flock of chickens I was a kid at my grandparents. Now that I have retired from the Army and with the help from my neighbor I am starting my own this year. They will be Rhode Island Reds. Eventually I would like to raise Dorking's. All that being said I am sure I will have a lot of questions, just to make sure I am doing it right.
    Thanks, Tom

Hi Tom, it's nice to have you here! I've raised RIR's before and really liked them...they have a lot of personality and are very good layers. I hope you'll enjoy yours as much as I did mine.

    Thanks for joining us!

G’Day from down under Tom [IMG] Welcome!

As you have already received some links to great starting points, I will just wish you all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out [IMG]
