Hello, I'm new here.
I live in pheonix AZ and we own 3 chickens and they're 20 weeks old now. 1 started laying this past weekend, but we think she may be going broody. I will be posting a thread.

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm guessing from your user name that your name is Michael (same as mine). Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chickens do you have?

IF you don't have a rooster - her eggs will be infertile and never hatch. You could either try to break her of her" broodiehood " or buy some fertile eggs of any breed and put them under her. If she accepts them she will sit and hatch them and raise them like her own.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!

Thank you for the welcome notes.

Yes, my name is Michael.

I can't remember the breed names but here's a pic.

I don't want a broody hen and according to the replies only post, she's not broody but just new to laying.

The picture is a bit blurry when I blow it up, so I can't real clearly make out the leg color on your two barred chickens, and I can't see the tail on the red one, but it appears that you have two Barred Rocks and a Production Red. Barred Rock hens sometimes go broody, but Production Reds rarely do so. Good luck in getting those eggs.
