Hi New to the forum and chicken raising on an extremely tight budget.

I am in the process of building the coop and using the forum for ideas.

I'll post pix as I go, I'm using a surplus entertainment center for the roosting area and existing walls in the yard for the coop.

[IMG] from the Finger Lakes of New York! I have found old pallets to be a great source of cheap building materials. I also hear some people get 3 or 5 gallon tubs from grocery store bakery depts for nesting boxes and feeders. You can find tons of other good ideas in the COOP DESIGN AND BUILDING section. So glad to have you with us!

Welcome to BYC. If there's a Habitat for Humanity place near you, that's a great place to get stuff you need at dirt cheap prices. The money you spend there goes to a great cause.
