I'm from S.I.N.Y., and new to chicken keeping. My wife has some experience, as her father had them her whole life growing up, and she wanted to raise some of our own for the eggs. We have 2 White Leghorns and 3 Rhode Island Reds, that we raised from chicks and they are now only a few weeks away from laying, and we're so excited!
I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but they've grown on me, as, coincidentally, I've been the one taking care of them most of the time. They're such funny birds, and crack me up constantly! I was very surprised to see how they all have their own personalities. I'm hooked!
