Hello everyone. My name is Bill and I am from southeastern Wisconsin. Found this site and after reading a few of the articles decided to join.
At the moment I do not have chickens, mainly due to the fact that I live in the city at the moment. I am hoping to change that though with in a yr or 2. I'd like to move out in the county were I would be able to have a small flock of maybe a dozen birds. Mainly to raise for eggs... nothing better then fresh farm eggs!
I do have experience with birds, but mainly finches and parrots. I have a meyers parrot (sweety), a quaker parrot (Sammy), and a blue front amazon (Chica). I also have about 60 various finches and canaries.

Hi Bill, it's good to plan early...there's always something new to think about and research. BYC has a forum for members that raise finches and canaries, you can use this link to get to it:
Caged Birds - Finches, Canaries, Cockatiels, Parro

Make yourself at home here, thanks for joining us!

Welcome! Sounds like you already have more than a foot in the aviary. Chickens will be a wonderfully funny addition to the family!

So far I am enjoying the site alot... I really enjoy all of the information given here, and I figure I have plenty of time before I start my flock to learn alot more about chickens. I'm thinking they aren't much different then my finches, other then being a lot bigger...lol
