hi everyone. My wife and I are looking to raise a few hens for eggs. We live in the Mandarin area in Jacksonville, Florida. I keep hearing opposing answers to whether or not it is illegal. Can anyone point me in the right direction or let me know the rules around here? Thanks

hi, i used to live in that area :) untill i moved to washington. any way i never heard anything about no chickens. did you hear if it was a new thing?

by the way welcome to the BYC family!!!

I just heard that in Jacksonville city limits chickens are a no go. No idea if I'm in city limits though

I'm trying to start raising chickens on my back yard too. and here what is what I know. call Mr. Erin Glick 904- 255-7826 he will give you your zoning restrictions then call Jennie Crosby 904-555-7450 she will set you up for a 3 hours class. I my self need to take it. hope to see you there PS the class feed is $ 5 then you take that certificate and get the permit the permit is $ 25 one time deal. and you can have up to 5 hens, sorry on roosters
