New here and to chickens!

Hello! I'm new here and new to chicken like. I rescued a pullet girl from a friend's flock who now lives in our house. We are building a coop and plan to welcome one or two more girls in soon. I'm here to learn as this is all new to me!
We are a vegetarian family so our chicks are pets, although we do eat eggs. I'm hoping to make my own organic feed and have to say I am intrigued by chicken diapers, although I don't know if I will really go there!

I'm looking for people in CT that may be selling rare or funky breeds.

from WI. Vegetarian to (ovo-lacto) but buy organic food....don't have enough chickens/knowledge to mix my own feed. The girls get outdoor time and lots of weeds, grass, bugs, veggies, fruit etc and seem happy enough....
