1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes. Started getting chickens about 6 weeks ago
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
As of right now we have about 20
(3) What breeds do you have?
To many. Lol.
2-black sex link
2-Smokey pearl
3-Starlight green eggers
2-Barred rock
3-Silkies
All of the above are 6-7 weeks old. Was 4 of the Starlights but lost 1 with a cocci break out.
Added the following about a week ago
4-Buff Orpington
2-Olive eggers
2-Silver Laced Wyandotte
All of them were wife’s choice.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Don’t know yet.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Hunting, fishing, kayaking. Pretty much anything outdoors
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married with 1 child. Couple dogs. I’m a shop manager at a local turf farm. My wife is a mobile dog groomer.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found this site thru google. I’ve read several things on here and some of the stuff I learned helped save my chicks after a cocci episode. Had 6-8 get pretty sick and only lost 1. So I figured I’d join so I could learn more.
