[Fistfull of Silkies]

I live in Grand Rapids Michigan area and have nine speckled Sussex, two silkies, two olive eggers, three Americanas, two barnvelders, and four huge Cayuga ducks. I am a defense and outdoor industry journalist and my work is tedious and complicated. I love my chickens and they make my life so much better. I am not raising for meat, just friends and eggs.

Gosh, my chickens have been huge therapy for me over the years. When I can't tolerate the world, I go up to the coop and sit with my chickens. Birds on my lap from my ankles to my belly. Love it!! You've got the right hobby for stress relief.
