New Hoop Pen Roof

Finally added a hoop roof to my 8x8 pen out back.

Before

PVC - 6 pieces of 1/2" @ 10' long each

Frame is up

Tarp is on

I got a 10x12 tarp, but really needed an 8x10. Will get a new one and swap it out.

The pen was originally 4 feet tall........and I added 2 more feet of hardware cloth last year to make it 6 feet. However, I can now remove that top 2 feet as the hoop top makes it about 7 feet tall at the peak.

Cost?

I think the PVC was $1.10 for a 10 foot stick @ Home Depot x 6 = $6.60
Tarp was $9.99 @ TSC
Total Cost: less than $20 and took less than an hour to build.

It will be a little prettier once I swap tarps out. But it is functional!

I like that!!! How did you attach the pvc pipe?

Just pre-drilled through the ends of the pipe and used 1 5/8" screws into the wood.
