Hello my husband and I are new here and to raising chickens along with other farm animals.
We were truck drivers and always wanted to live in the country and first thing we both wanted were chickens

Sooo here we are

Got our first 4 chickens last December

2 Rhode Island Red Hens and 1 Rooster
I Bardrock hen

Have now added Red Sex Links Production Reds more Rhode Island Reds a few Old English Black Australorp
And just got 25 Jumbo Cornish Cross for yummy fresh chicken

We incubate some eggs to raise our own mixed versions.

All our chickens are free range on 5 acres of pasture and woods

We also have a long list of other animals including but not limited to ducks quail goats calfs pigs rabbits and of course cats and dogs

Our own little homestead living 80% off grid the old fashion way.

All of this lifestile is new to both of us so we are full of questions and open to any sugestions and ideas and information.

We have named our own little place of Heaven "Lewis's Green Acres" Main reason being when I was born I was the last child and mymother let my sisters name me and they named me after Lisa off the show Green Acres and it fits me pretty well I was a big city girl before moving here
( Houston Texas) now here in middle of no where....LOL
Only difference between me and the tv Lisa is I can cook and love to work on the land along with my husband each and every day.

We are very excited to be here and cant wait to jump right in and learn everything and everything we can..
