    Our Story,

In less than a year we went from a family of 6 who recycled occasionally and used reusable bags at the large chain grocer to eating organic local grown food and growing 5o% of what we eat in lasagna style raised beds in the backyard. Oh but we weren't done yet...

3 weeks ago we brought home 6 baby chicks, yay one each of us :/. Heck why not. I guess being self employed with 4 kids, 2 huskys and learning how to grow our own food in the middle of suburbia wasn't challenging enough.

In all honesty, we have loved every minute of our new improved lifestyle and Backyard Chickens has helped us make a smooth transition to becoming 'chicken parents'. We look forward to growing with our chick babies and can't wait to learn more about raising chickens from all of you!

    With Gratitude

Please keep dogs and chickens far apart. They love chickens in the wrong way - as dinner.
You never hear about chickens killing a dog. Most new member intros mention their dog or cat massacred the chicks and they are starting over.
