Hi all! We are a family of 5 from Massachusetts who are new owners of 3 Plymouth Rock chickens. We lost 1 due to a neighbors dog this weekend and were so sad but plan on getting more soon.
Looking forward to connecting with others and super thankful for such a great resource for chickens (this website already saved one of our hens who had a respiratory infection. We treated her and she is back to her perky self).

Greetings from Kansas, Kara, and :welcome. Great to have you with us! Sorry to hear about your chicken. Dogs can do real damage to a flock. Good luck and best wishes with your new flock additions. :)

Hi Kara and welcome to BYC - glad that you have joined us.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre
https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center, and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread  as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

All the best

Thank you all for the sweet welcome. We just recieved 2 RI Reds, 1 Whote Leghorn and 1 Black Star today. Very excited to see how they all get along with our 2 Plymouth Barred Rock ladies.

Glad to hear BYC has already been of help to you. Please do realize your neighbors dog will keep coming back unless something stops him.
