Hi! I could use some advice on raising the chicks my broody is hatching. I just had my own baby 3 days ago so life is a bit hectic!!! My plan is to move her and chicks out of the dog kennel into the coop, putting down fresh litter of course. My other hens will stay out in the run until I can introduce chicks in a few weeks(?). The chicks will be on medicated starter until then. But can mama hen eat that as well? Can I let mama out of the coop for a bit of time daily without the chicks?

Feed a non medicated starter so everyone can eat the same feed. Don't let the hen out without her chicks, she won't go anyways. Make a temporary fenced area in your coop so the other hens can still use it too.
