Hello! I have read through many BYC forums but finally decided to join. As suggested, I've posted the sample questions below and have answered them. I'm glad to be a part of this community!

    (Q) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am not new to chickens but I don't know it all either. I have had chickens for about 1 year.

    (Q) How many chickens do you have right now?
I had a flock of 9 chickens that were recently killed by a stray dog. I just hatched 5 new babies from my flock's last eggs and bought 4 new babies from TSC.

    (Q) What breeds do you have?
My flock that was recently killed were: 1 Lavender Orpington Roo, 1 Lavender Orpington Hen, 2 Cinnamon Queen Hens & 5 EEs. The 5 new babies that I hatched are: 2 Lavender Orpingtons & 3 Olive Eggers. The 4 I bought from TSC are: 2 EEs and 2 bantams.

    (Q) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Honestly, I never realized I would enjoy chickens so much. I am not a "bird" person but I really loved my flock. I enjoyed feeding them, talking to them and I LOVED getting eggs. I would look forward to checking their nesting boxes every day.

    (Q) What are some of your other hobbies?
I don't really have any other hobbies. Chickens were and are my hobby.

    (Q) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else.
I am married with 2 kids. We have 2 dogs (a female shorkie & a female shih-tzu) and a big orange male kitty cat.

    (Q) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
When Googling questions about my flock, I would often come across other posts in this forum. I gained alot of valuable info by reading through other people's questions, so I decided to join my self. Plus I have a specific question to ask about my newly hatched chicks.

    Thanks so much!
