Hello. I'm new to the group and raising chickens. I did spend some amount of time around them at my cousins farm as a child but that's been years ago.

Is there anyone in the Charlotte area that can help me out with pointers on getting started, local regulations, etc? I'm looking primarily for eggs but would like a few for meat as we'll. I will be moving there in about a month or so and are looking to get started relatively quickly after we're settled.

    Thanks!

Welcome to BYC, and congratulations on your upcoming move. Go to the Social forum, click on 'Where am I? Where are you!', locate the North Carolina thread and post your questions there. Good luck on getting local advice.

It's always better to find out if chickens are legal in your area before you get them.
