    Hello,
We are first timers, learning as we go. Husband and I picked up six 1 week old chicks about 2 months ago. 2 buff Orpingtons, 2 Plymouth rocks, and 2 ameraucanas (at least that's what we were told at Callahans).

One of our chicks looks very different than the other. Possible rooster?

Loving each and every one of them and their little personalities. [IMG]

    Hello from Ireland.
I am glad that you have joined the flock!
Here's a link to the learning center.

    It might come in handy!

    As for the chickens
The one on the left is a young rooster and the
One on the right is a hen.
    Goodluck,
    Fionn.

G’Day from down under kris10benavides [IMG] Welcome!

I agree with ChickenGrass, pullet on the right and rooster on the left; I hope you are able to keep him where you are.

You might want to say hello on your local thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you ‘Find your State’s thread.

I hope you enjoy BYC. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends [IMG]

Thank you so much for leading me in the right direction. Sadly we will be unable to keep him as we are within city limits. Such a bummer because he is super sweet.

Welcome to BYC! It's great to have you. Yes, the bird to the left is a cockerel.
