New member from North Carolina

Little introduction ....I live in NC and a newbie to laying hens and hope folks here can guide me while i am in the learning curve. My Leonard's Buildings coop will be arriving here on Friday and the contractor is coming out next week to add a pen and to extend the roofline. Since I live in a subdivision I will have to contain them to the coop and pen. I have opted to go with 6 RIR's for what i have read they are pretty forgiving. Live at a beautiful lake in NC with my husband, 2 Goldens and 4 cats and soon to be 6 hens.
