Hi! I joined today! We have 3 hybrid hens (was four, but one was egg bound) on our land. We are fairly new to it all and have survived our ladies first winter and being cooped up because of the bird flu precautions. Now they are roaming free again and are very happy! We are about to purchase 5 more young hens this weekend (yes we've fallen in love with these girls). So we are busy getting their pen and coop ready. Any tips on introducing them to our adult hen are very much appreciated! [IMG]

Welcome to BYC! Looks to me like you've gotten a deadly disease called 'Chicken Math'. Not to worry though...you'll love it!

    Hi :welcome from Yorkshire!
Story to hear you lost a hen :( It sure can be sad when they pass. Congrats on adding more to your flock! My top tip for introduction is to have a read of this article ~

I have found it a great way of getting new birds together with the minimal amount of fuss.
Good luck with your new additions and enjoy BYC :frow

Don't worry, we were all new once and you will soon get the hang of it :highfive:
I will take care of your above posts for you but if you need to in the future you can click the flag at the bottom of any post and a moderator will take care of them for you.
