We are currently 4 weeks into our first chicken adventure. Wanted to finally join and say thank you for all of the great advice and information that convinced us to start our journey.

What breed are you hatching?

We already have Ducks for meat and eggs.

We have our first Maran Eggs in the bator. They went in 12/24/12. We also have Lavender Orpington Eggs coming later this month. These are our first Chickens since my husband and I were married. My husband had chickens and ducks growing up on a farm.

We started with a small flock of 4 chicks. One Buff Orpington that our daughter picked out, two Barred Rocks (we think one is a cockerel) and a mystery chick that we haven't been able to identify yet. All are 4 weeks old and growing fast!
