I have had chickens for 2 years. I have 15 Red Sex Links and have learned alot from this website. I don't know why I didn't join sooner. Cant wait till Spring I'm going to go in another direction and get a new breed. Black Astralorps from Kurt at Rattlesnake Ridge. Can't Wait

Hi and welcome to BYC - all the best with your chicken maths issue - we all suffer from the same condition, so you are certainly in the right place! [IMG]

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. I love both Black Sex Links (my favorite hens) and Black Australorps (my favorite standard breed). I think you will love the Black Australorps as they are extremely hardy, typically calm and gentle (good lap pets), and excellent layers of brown eggs (although not quite to Black Sex Link level). If you haven't done so already, definitely check out our Learning Center at https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center. There is lots of useful information there. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Cheers.
