Hello you’all
I’m so excited to join your group!! Here’s a little bit about myself.....
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We don’t have any chickens right now, but we will soon now that we have the proper size property. We used to have a mix of over 100 feathered friends (hens, guinea, geese, and ducks), a lamb and a pig.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
ZERO right now, thinking of having 10-12 to start. We are looking for someone to build us a quality, predator-proof coop with run.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Will start with Rhode Island Reds, Red Star, and Pearl White Leghorn.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Chickens are so adorable, they have so much character and are fun to care for.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Landscaping, traveling, cooking, hosting dinners, gathering with church family.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’ve always wanted to be a small homestead farmer. I LOVE chickens and want to start a vegetabel/herb garden sometime soon. Hubby is a landscaper and awesome French cook. We live in North Merritt Island, just a few miles from Kennedy Space Center.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been following BYC for at least 5 years now. Now that we’re ready to start over, I decided to join your community.
