New Member in Maryland

I got my first baby chicks almost 4 weeks ago. I will be a backyard chicken farmer. I have eight chicks and will be raising them for eggs and as my pets. I have wanted to do this for many years and finally did it! My husband has built me a wonderful coop using ideas from this website. I have found this website to be the most informative for information. I look forward to meeting you. I hope to post some pics soon.
I have Barr Rock, Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire White.
My six year old grandson is helping me with the chickens. Whenever we spend time with the chicks we call it "Chicken Therapy" I love my little chicks!!

chickens definitely are chick therapy and a lot cheaper than a psychiatrist
