HI all. I'm new to chicken raising. We have 5 so far, started with 8. Mink killed a few. :( Glad to be a part of this page.

Hi and welcome to BYC - great to have you on board with us. Sorry for your loss. Checking out the "predators and pests" forum may help give you some ideas of protecting your flock in the future.

You'll find lots of info in the Learning Centre https://www.backyardchickens.com/newsearch?search=learning+centre and if you have a specific topic in mind, just type it in the search box - there's a wealth of information on past and present threads.

You may wish to consider joining your state thread as it will put you in touch with other BYC members in your area - https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/26/where-am-i-where-are-you

Welcome to Backyard chickens!! Grrrrr, I know how it feels, I lost 5 to a weasel recently. It was NOT my day. You have been hooked up with great links, so I will just say hello and good luck! I hope you enjoy BYC as much as we do!

Welcome to the Backyard chickens thread. Mink are horrible, they love to kill for sport and can slip through very small openings. Are you allowed to trap them? Might as well get a few pelts for a hat or something.
