New member of family...

Just added a new girl to the pack, her name is Mae and she is a silkie. We already have a buff orphington and black sexlink. Any ideas, suggestions on how we should introduce them? Time frame for that? Don't want to upset the two girls, by the time mae is big enough to head out into the coop in the yard the other two girls will be laying. Will that be a problem?

Put her in a separate run near where the other girls are so they can see her, but can't peck her. She should be fine in a week or two, and you can release her with the others. they will peck a bit, just establishing pecking order, which gets messed up everytime flock members change, but won't hurt her. If she is getting hurt (just watch and see) separate her for few more days. Good luck!

Mae Is around 2 weeks old, so she will be in the brooder for a bit still
