Hi Robert,

Welcome to BYC! What breed(s) of chickens are you looking for? You might be able to find someone close to your area by posting in your state thread. Here's a link to it:

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

There are many places to buy chicks. Local farm stores, hatcheries, farms, breeders and of course places like BYC. Farm stores are great since you can observe and meet the baby chicks. Hatcheries and breeders are also nice.

NorthFlChick has given you a great link.

Here are a few places to check out here on BYC.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Definitely stop by and do some chatting in your state thread. Maybe someone nearby has some chicks or eggs for you. Usually by February, feed stores in the south start to carry chicks as well. So you might also ask at your local feed stores to see when they will be arriving and what breeds they will carry.

Good luck and if you have any questions along the way, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!
