Is it possible that I purchased 3 out of 5 Roos from a reputable farm? They were 5 weeks old and 98% possibility of being hens. I was so looking forward to fresh eggs!!

Hello there and welcome to BYC! [IMG]

Do you have any pictures of your birds? Let us have a look see and we can help you confirm it. At 5 weeks old, the place you bought them from should have been able to sex them fairly well. Definitely by 2 months old you can see pretty distinguishing features between pullets and cockerels.

So glad you have you aboard! :)

Will the seller take back roos in trade for pullets?

Welcome to BYC [IMG] It is possible, if you bought unsexed (straight run) chicks. But that said, even sexed chicks sometimes throws out a surprise rooster or two.

    Hi, and :welcome

Sadly there's always a chance of ending up with roosters even if they were 98% possibility of hens. Please post pics, and we'll give you our best opinions on them :)
