Hi, I'm sandy..we got our chickens about a year ago after a good friends wife died. They were hers. We started out with 6 hens and 2 roosters. We have lost 2 hens to predators and I gave 1 rooster away to help a neighbor. I am anxious to learn why chickens stop laying? Can someone help me out.

Sandy,

Several things can cause chickens to stop laying. Molting and Old Age being 2 of the most common. However, I've had hens stop laying for short periods of time when they were under highly stressful situations like relocation or predator stress.
