In the Brooder

I inherited 3 little silkie hens and have fallen in love. My little girls are prolific layers - in summer I get 3 to 5 eggs a day, which seems to be contrary to the information I see everywhere else. I am wondering if this happens because they have complete freedom to move around my very save yard and also, they own a bug hotel to ensure a good supply of fresh, fast food.

Glad you're here !

A must have for your poultry is a FIRST AID KIT for any issues that would arise. (
It's definitely better to have it and not need it rather than need it and not have it.

Also, make sure your coop(s) have a proper amount of VENTILATION. ( Your chickens will absolutely thank you for it!

One last thing, if you're into gardening, feel free to join this years SEED SWAP (
