Hi All, I've been reading BYC for some time and finally took the plunge and joined. I've been interested in fowl for some time and finally moved to where we could have them; brooded my first chicks at the end of March and a few of them are now laying. I have seven girls: Cuckoo Marans, Sicilian Buttercup, two EEs, Australorp, Welsummer and a Silver Laced Wyandotte.
Besides the flock, I also live with a budgie, two Australian Shepherds, and a wonderful husband. I volunteer for a few different rescues, including an equine sanctuary and my dogs work stock (sheep, cattle and ducks) so I get to enjoy many different animals vicariously.
