We have an American Game hen that just hatched 4 chicks 2 weeks ago. (Not her own eggs, mind you, but 3 different bigger breeds) We have another American Game hen that is broody and we would like to do the same thing...
The mama and chicks are in a separate part of the run. We built a shelter in there and they have a common fence with everyone for easy transition. There are two nests in the shelter. I would like to put the broody hen in the other nest. My husband is afraid the mama hen will fight with the broody one. I'm thinkin' if she's broody and stays put they should all be fine...
What say you?
