So later this week I'm going to go and pick up some muscovy hens. The breeder says she thinks they'll start setting their nest sometime this week if I wait to long. So my question will these hens start laying again after they're in with my drake or will I be waiting till next spring to get eggs/ducklings from them. I'm new to ducks in general so I'm not sure what they'll do after being moved.

It is possible that the seller is wanting to get the birds picked up quickly and just told you that so you would act fast. Unless the birds are already showing signs of going broody it is hard to really guess just from the amount of eggs laid when or if they are going to sit. Relocating birds to a new property can sometimes be stressful for them- and they can stop laying eggs for a while, but it is unlikely you would have to wait a whole year for them to lay again.
