on christmas eve i picked up 9 new muscovys..aged between 3 and 6 months.
when i picked them up they looked bright and alert but were filthy and wet. the woman said she'd told her daughter not to give them water the night before as they would make a mess in the holding pen, but her daughter didnt listen and filled up 5 buckets for them to play in.

anyhow i got them home and put them in the barn where it was warm (they were still wet from the night before) they all dried off nicely and seemed in good health but yesterday one looked still and quiet, huddled in the corner, it was dead by evening, then today another looked still so i brought her inside and put her under a heat lamp on low. she seemed to brighten up then took a turn for the worst, throwing her head back as if she lost all control, feet flailing around and she died a little while ago. any idea if this is related to getting TOO wet and cold or a disease??
i really dont want to lose anymore [IMG]
