New parents to a dozen chicks

We are enjoying our new family project. Watching as these chicks have grown double in size in just eight days. I gave them a branch to perch upon. I raised their water trough 9" to keep it cleaner. Gave them their first strawberry today( almost 12 minutes before they would get close enough to the strange alien). And, now they got a rock to fight over. Can't wait to build the coop! Too much fun for the whole family.

You are correct it is so much fun watching them grow

Want to see them do something funny boil up an egg and remove
the shell and mash up real good then serve see how long it takes
for them to eat the egg and it is good for their growing body's

So glad you are enjoying your new chicks! And yes, they do grow like weeds! Great that you put a small perch in there. I like to do this also and I make it bigger as they grow. If you have them roosting before they go out to the coop, they will know how to roost when they get to the coop. Many times chicks have no idea what to do with that roosting bar if they have never slept on one.
