I am absolutely beside myself! I've raised probably close to 100 chickens in my life but never done mail order. This year I really wanted to try some new breeds after a rogue neighbor dog devastated our flock so i ordered from Meyers. I was so nervous that I would open a box to find dead or lethargic babies but instead I found nine bright eyed happy peepers that went straight for the water and food. They shipped yesterday morning and I got them right off the truck at the post office this morning. They're by far the largest and most fiesty chicks I've ever had and my kiddos are thrilled. I got a:
    Blue andalusian
    Black copper maran
    Gold cuckoo maran
    Black australorp
    Barred rock
    Buff Brahma
    White leghorn
    Americauna
And the meal make mystery whom I suspect is a buff orpington.
    LOOK AT THOSE FACES

Congratulations! Each and every one of them is adorable!
Your family is going to have a wonderful chicken experience.
Make extra sure that heat lamp is secure since you have it near shavings.

Yes absolutely! Its clipped and tied with fire retardant rope and I have a thermal camera with an alarm installed. I'm a little paranoid

Good job! And it’s not the dreaded bulb with the teflon coating on it, right?
There was a problem with them last year. Teflon kills birds.
Not trying to frighten you just want to make sure you’re safe.
