I just hatched 7 Coturnix Quail, hopiing to start a small breeding for eggs business. I am also hoping to get some Caliifornia and Bob Whites, but as they are hard to come by, I am starting with Coturnix. My Silkie and Bantam Cochin hens hatched the eggs and are currently raising the babies.
We built the "quail coop" today. Still need to secure the roof. It is 4' x 4' x 2' with a slight slope for raiin to drain. The run will be 3.5' wide x 14' long x 2' tall.
Here is the "coop", no run. We made it out of scrapwood and the bottom is hardware cloth. There's 2 little squares cut for in n' out access.
The top is going to have 2 cellar style doors that open from the middle, with the corrugated plastic framed out.
