    So there is my big boy and his new girls [IMG]

    Are runners usually as big as he is? The gals surrounding him are Buff. Buff cross, Cayuga, Cayuga Cross, and Magpie crosses.

    Huh... He sure is... Oddly shaped. o_o;

    Even my McMurray hatchery runner is thinner than him...?

    I like him though, I should have kept my runner drake! [IMG]
    BUT, I have plenty now, since I'm growing them out to see who is the best to keep. [IMG]

    Comapare his bodyshape to my near show quality drake, Apollo.

    Note the long slender neck, and the lack of paunch.

    This next picture shows my two hatchery f/w runners, and my holderread black runners. Bad picture I know

    Note that the girls in front have slenderer necks, they are about the same age as the hatchery ones.

    So yeah, your guy is a bit large for a runner, but darn if he isn't beautiful just the same.

    The only other thing that she had on the property were crested pekins. Note sure if there were regular ones though. i like him all the same . I also appriciate that he knows to get out of the way of the riding lawn mower - where as with the rest of the flock you have to have a stick to push them out of the way!

    He's purty! I like the stocky build--not a typical Runner, but a good looking one anyway. And if he throws good egg layers, then I think you have a winner!

    Whoa! He's a big boy for a Runner. I'll bet you get some cool looking babies.
