Gotta spray it white, paint the door red, cover with chicken wire and put on the red tarp ...then the interior decorating can begin!

My husband took the name chicken chapel literally and got creative with the 2x2's and trim nailer..lol..... but dot worry... wire will go on the outside of this to keep birds in.

Interior plan..any ideas on plants ..are these ok?

WOW! Your farm looks kinda like mine...lots of different birds. We have 35 chickens, 4 pigeons, 5 ducks and 3 red goldens and were working on another 2 pens for next year! That's a beautiful turkey you have raised there!!! Good Job! Will your Indian Blues be laying this year? I want some eggs to hatch out!

I just became a new owner of a Red Golden. I live in Northern WI and am looking for any insider info on how to get him comfortably through the winter. Heck if you have any expertise advise I'll gladly take it. If it gets dangerously cold I'm willing to bring him inside the garage in a make shift coop. My other question is.. once it warms up this spring or summer I'm thinking about getting a couple quail. Could the Red Golden and the quail live together safely in the same aviary? Not overly excited about getting him a harem of hens just another fowl or two to have as company.

They are very cold hardy birds. All they need is a place where they roost that is draft free. They very rarely go into a house. If they are outside now do not bring them into awarm area. This will throw them into a molt which is bad for them this time of year.If they are outside just poly around where there roost is,but don't poly the entire pen, this screws up the cycle, they need the air flow.
Yes quail will live with them.I'd be more leary of the quail beating the pheasant then the pheasant beating the quail.
If no hen is present for him he may display to the quail and maybe even try to breed them, which is impossible, but it will not stop him from trying. If you do decide to get him a friend, get 2 or 3 if you can.He may just get a little aggressive to breed just 1 hen. With more hens he will breed them all and not constanly beat on 1 hen.
