new silkie chickens with long nails? should i cut them??

I have just purchased 2 x 2 year old silkie chickens and their nails are very long and have started to twist. Should i cut them and if so do i just use nail clippers? thanks for all advice.

yes..you can use human clippers or dog nail clippers..
a little at a time.
then use sandpaper if uneven or sharp.

cement stepping stones in the pen helps them keep the nails groomed.
(also the beak)
