I recently bought three silkies from a local fella who gets birds in from a lot of different places. I don't know much about them other than they are really cute and sweet. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they are roosters or hens and what to call the color of the two redder ones.

I have no idea as to their gender, but the red/brown and black/gray ones are called Partridge.

If you can get close ups of their faces with "poof" moved I may be able to help. I picked up a pair yesterday about the same age as yours. [IMG]

One of the red ones is starting to look like a female, but I would wait about 2 more weeks and try again. They are still quite young. [IMG]

They are still young I think your guess is as good a mine, also watch the behavior the more dominant ones could be roos and if something like a bird (if the old enough) The roos will all stand up and the pullets sit on the ground and not make a sound.

    Possibly all females.
