We were told that this baby is a Black Giant Cochin Hen. Can anyone confirm. She seemed unsure.

Not black but mottled would be my assessment. Way way to young for gender confirmation.

What about the "giant" part? The word is a little scary as we are still 1 year new at raising chicks.

She should grow to be about 8 to 10 pounds. Yup giant!!
They are gentle giants though!

Mine are still babies and have a long way to go. They will get tall the first year and fill out the second year.
