Hello everyone ! Just created a new account I have 5 hens that I've had for a year I had 6 but unfortunately my big lab killed her! I'm hoping this account will help me to prevent that from ever happening again due to leaving me very emotional! I want to learn to care for them properly and keeping them safe and happy, hope to learn from you all :)

The best way to prevent more loss, if to make sure dog & chickens NEVER meet. Dog has fun - chicken end up dead. After that the dog will be looking for more chances. Either the dog has to be locked up or the chickens must stay in a large, covered run.
