Hi there! I am new to BYC but not so new with keeping chickens. I have kept chickens off and on (mostly on) for the last 6 years. I currently have 5 silver laced Wyandotte hens, 1 black sex link (mutt?) hen, 2 Cochin Bantam roos, and 1 feather footed mutt roo. I'm trying my hand at incubating a batch of eggs in a DIY 10 gallon tank incubator. So far, it has been going well, except this morning I had an awful time keeping the temperature at the right range. This evening will mark 24 hours of incubation. I'm very excited and nervous at the same time.

I hate to say it, but I do have a favorite hen, my black sex link, Amelia. She's taught me a lot about keeping chickens and has given me my first home grown eggs. She inspired and nurtured my growing love of chickens. Originally, I didn't want to keep chickens again after my first try, my husband wanted them. Now I love them more than he does!

And one of my silver laced Wyandottes, Pearl.. She's my sweetheart.

I'll post pictures of my roos when I can find pictures of them.
