I have 3 young boys(5, 4, and 1), and I thought that trying to raise some chickens would be a great educational experience for them. Never realized I would do so much learning. I'm hoping to finish the coop this weekend. We got 8 chicks from the local Tractor Supply on Easter weekend and we are looking at ordering the Rainbow Layer package from McMurray soon. Looking forward to learning more.

Agreed. I am hoping that in the end the kids can at least learn where things come from. I don't what them growing up thinking that the grocery shop just magically keeps the shelves stocked.
