new to chickens in S.W. Florida

Hey all,
I'm Fred, my wife, son and I have just moved to a nice home in Labelle, Fl. With 3 acres and want to start getting a little more "off the grid", so we are starting with chickens! We can't wait to get rolling and are looking forward to this new adventure in our lives! Ihope to learn a lot from all the nice people on this forum and hope some of you are close to me so I can pick up some tips from someone with hot weather experance .
