Running a google search about baby chicks pecking each others eyes. You popped up in the results.

Congrats on your first flock!

My first flock almost mirrored yours -- a Rhode Island Red, a Barred Rock, a Buff Orpington (a senior girl who is still with me); my fourth was a Sicilian Buttercup. I think you will be happy with your choices.

Welcome to BYC; hope you get all the information you need from this community of helpful, experienced folks!

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Make sure their brooder has at least 1 sq ft per chick. Add some little perches and put red dots on the walls of the brooder to distract them from the eyes. I also like to dig up clumps of sod from the yard and give them a chunk with the grass, roots, rocks and critters in tact. They love it, it gives them a great activity to enjoy and helps build their immunity.
